Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their confidence, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. These activities help students to think critically, articulate their ideas clearly, and engage confidently with an audience. To succeed, students learn to research effectively, listen actively, and present persuasive arguments with poise. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.
Creative and performing arts
Our vibrant dance, music and art programs inspire students to express themselves with confidence and passion.
Through the prestigious Musica Viva Residency Program, we deliver evidence-based music instruction that nurtures every young musician’s potential. Our musicians also have exciting opportunities to share their talents during performances at the Opera House or as part of the Greater Western Sydney Concert Band. In visual arts, our creative students consistently shine. Their works have been recognised at the Penrith Show and other community art exhibitions. Our dancers audition each year for the Blue Mountains Nepean Dance Festival showcasing their movement skills. Their dedication, passion and hard work have prepared them to deliver spectacular performances that celebrate creativity and teamwork.
Trips, excursions and incursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world. Sometimes the community also comes to visit us at the school. All incursions and excursions link to the New South Wales curriculum. Some of these experiences include learning about living things by visiting farm animals, travelling back in time through history by visiting historic buildings and museums, learning about responsible pet ownership, implementing sustainable recycling practices to foster environmental responsibility, music performances, Stage 2 and Stage 3 camps and many more wonderful learning experiences!
Sporting events
Our school hosts sporting events throughout the year, including cross country, athletics carnival and a competitors only swimming carnival. These carnivals provide students with the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities, build team spirit and enjoy healthy competition. Many of our talented students go on to represent the school at the Zone Athletics Carnivals, demonstrating their dedication and sporting excellence.
